Behavioral Health and Developmental Services
About the Program
The Washington County Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (BHDS) has administrative oversight of Behavioral Health Services (Mental Health), Children and Adolescent ServicesEarly Intervention, and Intellectual Disabilities (formerly Mental Retardation) programs in the county. Operating under the Mental Health and Intellectual Disabilities Act of 1966, we administer a wide range of services including, but not limited to:

Mission Statement
The mission of the Washington County Behavioral Health and Developmental Services is to provide holistic, person-centered services and supports for infants, children, adolescents, and adults with Mental Health, Intellectual or Developmental Disabilities.

Vision Statement
We strive to ensure that services are designed to facilitate recovery, resiliency, and promote the principles of "Everyday Lives" through meaningful community participation.
