Attorney Jerry Moschetta is currently a Deputy District Attorney and began working in the Washington County District Attorney’s office in 2008.
He received his Bachelor’s degree from John Carroll University in Business Administration with a major in Finance. After that, he attended Western Michigan University Cooley Law School where he received his law degree. He passed the Pennsylvania Bar Exam in 2006 and began his legal career as a law clerk in the courtroom of Judge Janet Moschetta Bell of the Washington County Court of Common Pleas. He began his career with the District Attorney in 2008 where he focused on state appeals, post-conviction relief act litigation, and federal habeas corpus litigation. Thereafter, he was assigned to a general trial list comprised of felony and misdemeanor cases.
In 2016 he was appointed by the Department of Justice to serve as a Special Assistant U.S. Attorney in the violent crime section of the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Pittsburgh. In that role, he federally prosecutes mid- to high level drug traffickers from Washington County, with a focus on opioid dealers, and felons who unlawfully possess firearms. He also specializes in the prosecution of drug deliveries that result in overdoes death both at the state and federal levels.
In addition to prosecuting crimes as a Deputy District Attorney and a cross designated Special Assistant U.S. Attorney, Jerry Moschetta is also an adjunct professor in the Criminal Justice Department of Waynesburg University.
