I feel that all communities in Washington County should put an initiative on their books regarding political signage. I feel that politicians should have one week after the election to remove signs and any time after that they should be fined. This is nothing but pollution. Fine them every day past one week after the elections that the signs are still posted. This would also be a way for communities to garner more income.

We need a safe pedestrian and bike path along rt 19 (Murtland Ave./Washington Rd.) in Washington between the State Police barracks and the intersection of 19 with Cameron Rd./Manifold Rd. Many people walk and bike this currently unsafe route as they go to work at Trinity Point and Strabane Square, and some would walk or bike to the Wellness Center if it were safer.

Many Residential/Suburban communities are making room for the Urban Farming Movement across this country. I would like to see Revised Ordinances to allow for up to 6 hens to be kept on residential lots, by urban farmers in local municipalities; in particular, Peters Twp. It goes to the self-sustaining, healthier lifestyle and naturalist approach that more and more people have with knowing where their food comes from. Great pets, that are natural pest controllers. I was lucky to have been a part of this movement in the City of Pittsburgh with exciting & positive results. Life has moved me out to Washington County, and I was surprised to see that the old ordinances did NOT provide for me to have my chickens in a residential neighborhood here! There are currently conflicting ordinances on the books; with references to not allowing chickens in the Farm Ordinance unless you have 10+acres; but they are admitted in the Animal Ordinance as a Small pet that needs to be contained and clean...

In my neighborhood of North Charleroi, I walk every morning and evening with my family for exercise. On my walks I have to carry pepper spray and a baseball bat. Why? Because every day I am approached by at least one out of control or loose dog. Some are harmless, some are not. I should not have to carry pepper spray and especially a baseball bat when I walk with my infant daughter and TRAINED, CONTAINED, and CONTROLLED dog. I am constantly calling Animal Control (at least twice a week) but seeing no change in the irresponsible and neglectful ownership of the dogs in my neighborhood. I am a dog lover and not only do I worry for the safety of the loose dogs, but for the other trained, contained and controlled dogs who might be attacked, and obviously i'm concerned for anyone trying to enjoy the outdoors like myself who are at risk. I am at a loss on what to do! It breaks my heart and angers me that I cannot enjoy my neighborhood with my family. Thank You.

California University of PA and surrounding communities would benefit from an indoor facility that would include a Field, Track, Batting cages, portable mounds and weight room.
Benefits
1. Community: offering school districts approx. 20 a place for youth, adult activities. Economic influx from tournament (youth soccer, baseball clinics, softball clinics etc. Retain and increase business opportunities such as new resturants, hotels. Job creation.
2.University benefits: increase in enrollment, retaining areas best students and student athletes. Tax revenue generation: With California U of PA being so close to Westmoreland co.and Fayette Co. (school districts such as Bell-Vernon, Thomas Jefferson, Uniontown, Connelsville) all would send youth sports to the facility generating money for the University and county. With enrollment increasing will also bring more tax dollars and economic prosperity to this part of Washington County.
See the new facility in Wheeling WV. highlands.

I think that the online payments for your taxes should FREE. Every other business and utility in the U.S. is pushing for customers to pay online and I don't believe do that because it lowers the businesses' profit margin. It obviously saves them money. I can understand that visa charges a fee but to put a "convenience " fee on tax payments made with online checking is just another way of adding to the tax! I thought the idea is to try to make it easier for people to pay their taxes on time thereby making it easier for the county to work within their budget

We need a community here around the Monongahela area to sponsor a recycling event. There are a lot of people who have tires, TVs, computer monitors, paint etc. that would benefit from a recycling event closer to us than the Washington County Fairgrounds or Pittsburgh. This would help clean up the neighborhoods and make the area something to be even prouder of. A boy scout group or other civil service minded group could be asked to help with the event.

Positive music and laugh and love at the crisis centers for the mentally ill instead of employees going for Doctorates in psychology sitting around watching gorey tv and saying "what a great show" while I slept with a headache in my bed and could not sleep nor get an aspirin and not treated with dignity. The signs for anxiety run across the PCs at the hospital and say"if you are anxious try Cognitive behavior Therapy" , but not once in 25 years of therapy was it offered or was I led to it nor treated for trauma recovery, domestic, violence in my home and protected when his and ended up with a concussion and inability to think. To begin trusting the patient instead of calling them a liar. I have OCD, but called liar tested for drugs when have a learning disability undiagnosed. why keep doing it? Should not have to tell story and history treated with dignity and repspect. I work, I have 2 new knees, and can get a ride to the senior.center for free, but not therapy I desperately need.

At one time Monongahela would have under 21 dances at the firehall once or twice a month on Fridays or Saturdays. This was a great way to keep teens out of trouble, You had to be a certain age to attend and if you left building prior to dance being over you couldn't get back in. You could charge a cover charge and sell hot dogs chips pop etc. This could be a fundraiser for the fire dept and a safe haven for kids to hang out in.
